After returning from several years of working in London for King and Co, Stephen came back to his home area in 1984 to work for Dodds Brown and in 1992 bought the business from Halifax Estate Agents Limited.

As the Senior Partner in Dodds Brown he leads a team of professional and dedicated Surveyors who collectively provide a broad range of property services and specifically oversees the Agency department. The practice also has the benefit of a team of experienced and knowledgeable support staff.

Stephen provides consultancy advice across the commercial property spectrum, with a particular focus towards development and specific projects in the region, which to date has involved working with Private and Public Sector organisations including Nifco UK Limited, Tees Valley Unlimited, Terrace Hill Group, ABLE UK Limited, Sembcorp Wilton Site, Wynyard Management Services, TTE (Teesside Training Enterprise), Psyche Retail Department Store and Cleveland Cable Limited.

In his role Stephen also acts for Landlords of properties occupied by Barclaycard, Churchill Insurance, DVLA, NHS, CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) providing general advice relating to the asset management and more specific advice towards complex rent reviews and the re-gearing of leases.

He has been heavily involved from the outset in regeneration projects in relation to the office developments within both the Middlehaven area of Middlesbrough and the Teesdale Business Park, Stockton.

Stephen also provides valuation advice to various banks including HSBC and Svenska Handelsbanken AB (publ) and numerous private property companies and occupiers, along with advice for acquisition and relocation purposes.
