Dodds Brown lets Ingleby Barwick retail unit to new hairdressers

09 April 2019

Teesside independent commercial property consultancy Dodds Brown has let an Ingleby Barwick retail unit to a new hairdressers.

Aiming to provide luxury hairdressing, The Mane Lounge is a new business specialising in hairdressing, expert colouring and styling, which has taken a new five year lease at Unit 8, Sandgate Park, Myton Way, Ingleby Barwick, Stockton-on-Tees, TS17 5LL.

Anchored by a Co-op Food store, Sandgate Park is a 14,262 sq ft retail development which consists of 12 retail units.  Other occupiers also include a 130 seat Al Forno Italian restaurant and coffee shop, Cooplands Bakery, FIX IT DIY, Roseberry Newhouse, Barnardo’s & 3 Rivers Micro pub.

“The Mane Lounge is a welcome addition to this very popular neighbourhood shopping centre and has started to trade extremely well in the short time it has been open,” says Richard Wilson, Senior Associate Partner at Dodds Brown, the letting and managing agents for Sandgate Park.

The Mane Lounge’s Lynn Lowery says: “We are delighted to join the Sandgate park shopping complex, and have already begun developing a wonderful clientele and gathering an abundance of five star reviews.  Since its development, Sandgate Park has become a bustling hub for Ingleby Barwick community and is proving to be a dream location for the Mane Lounge.”

The letting to The Mane Lounge leaves only unit seven available, as well as unit four, the former Yarm Butchers shop.

“It is a great shame that Yarm Butchers has closed, as it was a really busy shop, but this presents a good opportunity for another butcher to take over the unit ready fitted out as a butchers shop.  Both units have the benefit of A1 planning consent.  Alternative uses could be considered, although that would be subject to planning permission.  I urge anyone interested in these opportunities to get in touch with us,” continues Mr Wilson.

Ingleby Barwick is one of Europe’s largest private housing estates, where residential development is still ongoing. Household numbers are expected to reach in excess of 25,000, with final phase residential schemes now under way.
