Dodds Brown appointed lead consultants on Middlesbrough’s snow dome development team

Plans for a state-of-the-art Middlesbrough snow centre, which could create 350 jobs, have taken another step forward with the appointment of a lead consultant to the development management team.

Teesside independent commercial property consultancy Dodds Brown will lead the team presently drawing up final designs and costings for the £30 million Snow Centre, with a view to submitting plans for detailed planning permission this September (2018). 

Dodds Brown will also investigate the commercial lettings market for a variety of leisure and retail units planned for the Snow Centre.

Construction work on the project, which is supported by Tees Valley Combined Authority and Middlesbrough Council, is expected to start in early 2019.

Middlesbrough’s £30 million Snow Centre will consist of two ski slopes with an ice wall, ice bar, trampoline park, climbing walls, a play area for children, bowling alley and an indoor skydiving centre.  Alongside the leisure activities there will also be associated retail facilities and food and beverage units. The Centre is expected to attract 2.25 million visitors per year.
