Ye Olde Christmas Market Welcomed Teesside's Finest Independents

17 April 2015

FROM HOMEMADE fudge to fresh artisan bread, the popular Dundas Food & Craft Market made a welcome return to Dundas Arcade in December.

The Middlesbrough-based shopping centre welcomed customers both old and new to their Ye Olde Christmas Market, which saw the area’s finest independent businesses all come together under one roof.

The market coincided with Small Business Saturday, which saw shoppers make the most of Middlesbrough’s exciting independent scene.

Dundas Arcade invited new traders along to the market so customers could find out more about the areas emerging and vibrant independents.

Tracey Porritt, a charity fundraiser for Sowing Seeds, said: “I never knew there were so many funky businesses in Middlesbrough!

“I’ve bought plenty of stocking fillers for all the family today including artisan cheese for the hubby, personalised jewellery for my daughter and even a new handbag for my work Christmas party night-out!”

Alongside the Christmas market, free children’s crafts activities took place where children of all ages were able to paint and decorate their own Victorian style wooden tree decorations.

There were also plenty of surprise appearances over the weekend including a traditional town crier who bellowed people into the arcade and a visit by the big man himself, Santa Claus, who put big smiles on everyone’s faces.
